For the second year in a row, Opera Carolina hosted our annual Festa della Repubblica celebration in remembrance of Italy's historic vote to become a republic. 

With a variety of Italian foods, operatic arias, and lively conversations, this night was a celebration of Italian culture and community here in Charlotte. During the event, a silent auction was held featuring generous donations by Italian businesses. The guest of honor, Consul General of Italy in Philadelphia Christina Mele, gave a speech and was presented with gifts as her assignment in the US draws to a close. We also heard from Honorary Consul Dr. Valentina Cecchi, Opera Carolina Director Dr. Shante Williams, CCI-NC Board Member Claudio Ferri, and CCI-NC Weekend School Director Marco Carbone. All of our speakers touched on the work of CCI-NC and the importance of the occasion.
