It is with great excitement that we announce the official visit of H.E. Mariangela Zappia, Ambassador of Italy to the United States, to the state of North Carolina in October 2022. The Honorary Consulate and CCI-NC, together with partner organizations NC State University and the World Affairs Council of Charlotte, are planning two days of events for the community. Comi Condor was founded in 1920 in Milano, Italy. Comi Condor is a worldwide leader in the production of centrifuges for solid/liquid separation in the pharmaceutical (API - Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, and HPAPI - Highly Potent Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), chemical, and food industries.
Polaris and Comi Condor have a joint venture in the US, Comi Polaris Systems, Inc., which is located in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Cecchi to speak more broadly about Italian technology and Italian foreign direct investment and what that means for the state of North Carolina.

As part of the World Affairs Council of Charlotte's Ambassadors Circle Series, Ambassador Zappia will speak to the Charlotte business and International community. She will talk about Italy’s diplomatic and trade relationship with the U.S. and offer insight into ways to continue strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.
As a longtime career diplomat in the Italian foreign service, Ambassador Zappia will offer her perspective on Italy’s role in the world and regional alliances, including NATO. In addition, she will address Italy’s response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, European politics, and geopolitical tsunamis affecting communities worldwide.
