On June 2nd every year, Italy celebrates Festa della Repubblica - when Italy became a republic thanks to a constitutional referendum voted on by the people after the Second World War and the fall of Fascism in 1946. Today, celebrations are held all over Italy and include parades, fireworks, concerts, picnics, and football (soccer) games.
